Grohe steps up health and safety measures at its European factories

Grohe has changed its production schedule across its European factories in line with recommended health and safety procedures.

The company is working to manage stock and service levels across the EMENA [Europe, Middle East and North Africa] region and implement the procedures relevant to those individual markets.

Changes will include the manufacturing site in Albergaria, Portugal, which has suspended production from March 30 to April 12. The three factories in Germany have changed their production schedules and set-ups so as to adhere to the latest hygiene measures to ensure the safety of staff.

Meanwhile, the site in Klaeng, Thailand (pictured), has already implemented strict procedures, including temperature control to ensure increased hygiene standards and safety for employees.

The company said it wants to ensure the safety and health of its staff and support the overall efforts to help contain the pandemic.

Thomas Fuhr, chief operating officer, fittings, at Lixil International and chief executive of Grohe AG, said: “With the spread of the novel coronavirus, we witness an unprecedented situation across the globe. Over the recent weeks, the impact has increased on society and the economy alike.

“Given the overall dynamics, we have constantly evaluated the rapidly-changing circumstances early on to determine necessary actions. We are tightening existing measures to further protect our employees.”
