Kitchen appliance manufacturer Hoover Candy has won the CIH Support of the Independents award.
Hoover secured the title against competition from suppliers of white goods, small domestic appliances and brown goods.
Steve Macdonald, marketing director of the Hoover freestanding division, commented: “This is a special award for the company and means even more considering the strong and diverse competition we were up against. We are continually striving to provide the best customer service to independent retailers and this award provides confirmation we are investing efforts in the right areas.
“We are delighted our support and after-sales service is being recognised. The CIH award is the culmination of consistent endeavour from all our staff, in particular the excellent work from Chris Bennett, channel director, and Sharon Hamer, field sales director and their dedicated team.”
As well as the award win, Hoover reported “impressive” market share figures in the freestanding sector in 2016.
Macdonald concluded: “Hoover has been working closely with CIH for nearly 50 years and it is great to see our support of CIH and its members, along with our innovative product range and strong service, being rewarded.
“This award has topped off a great year for Hoover. We are now turning our attentions to the year ahead, which is set to be another exciting year for the company.”
