kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2021: The finalists revealed

The shortlist for the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2021 has been unveiled following the announcement that the event itself has already sold out.

The standout names in the rundown are Day True in London and awards newcomer ProBuild360 in Birmingham.

Day True has four nominations: Kitchen Showroom of the Year as well as Bathroom Retailer of the Year, and two design nominations – Kitchen Designer of the Year (Project cost £30,000 to £50,000) and Bathroom Designer of the Year (Project cost £10,000 to £25,000.

ProBuild360 is shortlisted for Kitchen Retailer of the Year, Bathroom Retailer of the Year and Installation Company of the Year.

There are two new categories for this year, the one-off Lockdown Support Special Award which looks at how suppliers supported and looked after their retailer networks during the lockdowns.

And the long-overdue Installation Company of the Year.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 15 at a huge ceremony at the magnificent St George’s Hall in Liverpool. The event is sold out but all finalists get two free seats.

“This has been a crazy year,” said kbbreview managing editor Andrew Davies. “We had no idea whether anyone would even enter but they did in their hundreds and hundreds and this shortlist is the result of a lot of hard work by our indomitable judges.

“It’s a fantastically strong line-up of finalists, plenty of familiar names proving they’re still at the top of their game, and plenty of new names showing that talent always rises to the top. Congratulations to all of you.”

The kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2021 is sponsored by some of the biggest names in the industry including Impey, Franke, Kudos, Ideal Standard, Samsung, VitrA, InSinkErator, Roca, Neff, Aqata, KBB Birmingham 2022, BiKBBI, Hansgrohe, Swift, Used Kitchen Exchange and Hettich.

This shortlisted represents the end of the first stage of judging – for the design finalists they must now present their projects to the judges in person and the retail finalists will do the same with their businesses. The stage, unsurprisingly for 2021, will take place via Zoom.

More information on the finalists, their design and their businesses, will be revealed over the coming weeks.
