Kitchen Alchemy has been appointed as exclusive UK and Ireland agent for TheWall – a new ready-assembled, ‘plug-and-play’ solution for wall panelling that promises to drastically reduce installation times.
The product is said to suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, home offices and anywhere where a run of panelling is needed.
Made by Swiss-based Orea AG, TheWall is supplied as a single, ready-assembled unit that, said Kitchen Alchemy, can be installed “in minutes” once the worktop has been fitted and can be used in place of a traditional splashback. This, said the company, not only reduces the time spent by the retailer on installation, but also improves the customer experience.
The Professional range of TheWall can be supplied as panels up to 3m by 1.2m in portrait or landscape formats, with a maximum of three powered rails per panel, allowing lights, shelves and other accessories to be repositioned as often as required. The company said that multiple panels can be combined to cover larger areas.
At its factory in Germany, TheWall can be fitted with glass, wood or ceramic veneers, or supplied ‘naked’ and then covered locally by the retailer with the material of the designer’s or customer’s choosing.
Factory-supplied fronts are made from 4mm glass, 4mm Dekton or 6mm wood veneers, which are mounted on a 40mm aluminium frame. The company advises designers they must allow 44m to 46mm in their plans to accommodate this.
The company added that a further advantage for the retailer is that if they are replacing a worktop, TheWall is simple to remove and can be repositioned once the work is complete.
The panels are simply held in place by “space-grade” Velcro, although it recommends backing that up with a bead of silicone.
The product is supplied in a choice of seven laminate finishes.
