Record year for Omega as sales top £60 million

Omega plc CEO Simon Barber

British kitchen manufacturer Omega has reported record turnover for 2022, breaking through the £60 million barrier.

The 2022 financial year’s landmark turnover figure was a 22% increase over the year before.

The company says that the achievement is the result of tactical investments to support its retail partners.

During the Covid pandemic, Omega says it invested millions of pounds to secure materials supplies while also increasing warehouse capacity, doubling its UK stockholding levels.

As well as these steps to provide certainty of supply, Omega has also invested in staff across the business to deliver enhanced levels of customer service.

Commenting on the financial milestone, chief executive Simon Barber (pictured) said: “I feel incredibly proud that Omega continues to grow its market share by delivering high quality, innovative, made for life kitchens, on time and in full to our customers. Through strategic investment across the business, we have strengthened our team, infrastructure, production capabilities, product design, and sustainable initiatives.  We are well placed to strengthen our position further in the years to come.”

Omega is capitalising on this period of growth for the company by prioritising sustainability. It is part of the Furniture Industry Research Association (Fira) and its products are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, with a range of 100% recycled doors and kitchen cabinets made from 52% recycled material.

The company has also invested in energy-saving measures in its manufacturing, warehousing, offices and delivery services.

Omega retail sales director James Bishton added: “With our kitchens being made solely in Britain, at our Yorkshire-based production facility, our customers take confidence from the on-time in full delivery promise and as a UK supplier we are always on hand to support our partners swiftly. Our combination of consistent high-quality product and service has been of huge appeal to design consultants, project managers and the end consumer.”

Bishton also pledged that there would be no price increases this year: “Price will always be one of the driving factors in kitchen purchases and during this time of economic uncertainty we are providing customers with price stability in 2023 allowing them to quote in confidence, safe in the knowledge the price will not increase this year.”

The company also did well in its contracts division. Contract sales director John Cahill said: “The ability to offer secure supply chain solutions for developers has been a key contributor to the growth of Omega PLC’s contract division in 2022.”
