Roman expands manufacturing capacity

Shower manufacturer Roman has expanded its main production lines and acquired land and buildings that increase its overall capacity to 400,000sq ft.

The British company, based in County Durham, has increased its main shower enclosure manufacturing site from 90,000sq ft to 140,000sq ft. In the main factory, there are now eight production lines instead of five, to help cater for increased demand for shower enclosures, wet-room panels and bath screens.

Next to the main site, Roman has rented two buildings for its cold surface shower tray manufacturing and Corian fabrication for bathroom structures, vanity units and basins. Two additional adjoining buildings have also been purchased, along with the surrounding land, bringing Roman’s overall space on the site to 400,000sq ft.

The company said this future-proofs it for strong growth, extra warehousing and an enhanced level of service to its customers.

Managing director David Osborne said: “Roman has seen a steady increase in demand for our products both within the UK and internationally and expanding our premises allows us the opportunity to continue our strong growth, while constantly enhancing our service levels, production capabilities and of course capacity.”
