Sirius confirms physical trade show as it celebrates its 20th year

The Sirius Buying Group has announced that its VIP Members Trade Show will go ahead as a physical event in September.

The electricals and kitchens buying group, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has confirmed that the trade show will take place at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Meriden, near Birmingham, on Wednesday, September 22, with a gala dinner in the evening. It is preceded by the buying group’s AGM, which will take place the day before.

Commenting on the event, Sirius Buying Group managing director Steve Jones said: “We are delighted to say our doors will open once again with the full support of everyone in the group to go ahead with a physical trade show next month. We look forward to welcoming our new and established members to come together in an informal, Covid-secure venue to explore the latest exclusive deals and series of product launches by our market leading Approved Suppliers.

“The group has been hugely focused on supporting its members since before the pandemic, assisting with guidance and best practices through the pandemic along with dedicated supplier meetings via Zoom each month becoming standard fare, so it will be great to continue these conversations safely in person. I am so proud of the community we continue to grow and build on, with 183 members and over 250 retail outlets ready to do business and safeguard their future.”

Those attending the show will be able to see a series of new products for 2022 from Sirius’s Approved Suppliers for kitchens and appliances and take advantage of exclusive deals.

Sirius general manager Mark Veysey added that the group was committed to making sure its members make the most of their online presence. He said: “We have all seen the importance of harnessing the latest technology to stay connected with our network of customers and given the growing Sirius community over the past 18 months, we will continue to dedicate time to exploring how increasing your online presence can and will, capture new customers while giving an instant overview of the level of service and expertise our members can provide.”

Commenting on the group’s 20th anniversary, MD Steve Jones said: “To be able to recognise our 20th year in business, following a period of paused trading in light of the pandemic and what initially caused huge uncertainty, is truly remarkable, and to achieve this in the wake of our best year to date in terms of new members, purchasing growth and rebates is huge. How our members proved they could adapt and the support of our Approved Suppliers should not go unnoticed. We are extremely proud of our Approved Members and Suppliers as our company ethos has always been to work creatively together for the greater good and this is evident given our network of market-leading Approved Suppliers, 183 members and over 250 retail outlets.”

Speaking of the KBB industry, Jones added: “One of the many things I love about the KBB sector is the feeling of community and how the indie retailer is steadfast in its commitment and passion for quality products and service. This is why we strive to provide the exact same level of commitment back in what we offer to our members and suppliers. We are so proud to be able to harness and convey this level of skill and personal assurance to each and every customer for over two decades, taking pride in our industry’s extensive knowledge and unique ability to design kitchen living spaces for the individual – we wouldn’t be here without you all and for that we thank you.”

Sirius says it aims to ensure its members carry the right product mix for their customers with the advantage of Sirius’s collective purchasing power of more than £100 million, allowing it to offer members enhanced margins and cost-saving benefits.
