Störmer invests in laser-edging technology

German-based kitchen manufacturer Störmer has announced the implementation of laser-edging technology at its 15,000sq m factory in Rödinghausen.

Collaborating with industrial furniture machine manufacturer Homag, it has installed the sealTec system, which helps prevent moisture and water vapour accessing through the glue joint in furniture.

Kitchen furniture is often exposed to high levels of damp but Homag claims its solution, “improves the water repellent properties of the surface up to three times”.

Bodie Kelay, managing director of Störmer’s UK distributor Euromobel, said: “Störmer has already achieved great acclaim in 2016 with the Golden M award and this groundbreaking development further reinforces their standing as an industry innovator. We look forward to welcoming trade visitors to kbb Birmingham 2016 to highlight the new technology on stand J115.”
