The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has postponed its conference until June 6-7 next year because of concerns over coronavirus.
The last BMA conference took place in 2019. The 2020 event was rescheduled for June 7-8 this year but, amid growing concerns over Covid-19, it has been postponed until 2022. It will take place at Carden Park Hotel and Spa in Cheshire.
BMA chief executive Tom Reynolds said: “The safety of all the attendees and BMA employees is at the forefront of our minds and we have been working with Carden Park to assess whether the event can go ahead.
“This is the second time we have taken the decision to postpone the conference, and it’s with a heavy heart we’ve taken this step. Ongoing lockdown and travel restrictions in the UK, and uncertainty about the vaccine timetable, have prompted this move.
“Rather than cancelling the event at the last minute, we’ve taken the decision to postpone for now, but I want to reassure everyone that the conference will happen at some point, and we will do everything we can to make it worth the wait.”
The first day of the event involves a charity gold day and charity wine tasting. The next two days will feature conferences, debates and networking opportunities. The event is open to manufacturers, distributors, retailers, architects, designers and the media.
Speakers include: Tim Pollard, principal of Pollard and Pollard; business speaker, humourist and magician John Hotowka; Dr Chadden Hunter, producer and director at the BBC Natural History Unit; Robert Llewellyn, former Scrapheap Challenge presenter, and Prof Lewis Dartnell, who is a research scientist, presenter and author.
