EXCLUSIVE: Bax sees UK growth after collaboration with Haus of Design at kbb show

German kitchen manufacturer Bax has seen an increase in its UK dealer network since it collaborated with Middlesbrough-based retailer Haus of Design at the kbb Birmingham show.

Before March, Bax had a few specialist dealers and partners in the UK. Since the kbb show, there has been an influx of orders placed for showroom displays and retailers requesting to join the network.

Owner and director of Bax Kitchens, Josef Wiese, and director of Haus of Design Amir Kamiabi, collaborated to exhibit at kbb. The pair worked together in designing the displays and saw it as a huge investment.

Kamiabi said: “It is a huge investment to be part of the NEC show in Birmingham and we had to find a way to create a stand that would not be overshadowed by the huge German brands who would be showcasing with their huge budgets.”

The Haus of Design and Bax only had six months to bring the German kitchen company to kbb Birmingham as Kamiabi and Wiese first met at Germany’s Küchenmeile exhibition in September 2019.

Haus of Design in Middlesbrough has renovated its showroom to become Bax’s flagship showroom. The new displays in its Teesside showroom were first featured at kbb Birmingham 2020 in March and were made so they would work at the show and in the showroom.

The three large Bax displays now take up 50% of the showroom space, the rest being devoted to Schüller, Next125 and Aster Cucine.

Kamiabi said: “I feel so lucky to be working alongside these world-class brands. From our humble beginnings in Teesside, to showcasing alongside Bax and the other brands at the UK’s largest gathering of the world’s best kitchens, it’s fantastic.

“The show was a real success and we definitely felt we got the most out of all of our hard work and investment. I’m proud of what we all achieved at the show and am already so excited to see what’s in store for the future for each of the brands involved [Küppersbusch, Laminam, Quooker and Bora]. Watch this space for more innovation and creative ideas from these fantastic companies, we’re especially looking forward to showing everyone our next pieces of work alongside Bax Kitchens.”

Bax kitchens are handcrafted and hand-finished. There is a wide offering of more than 600 wood veneers, 30 ceramic finishes, and a range of solid wood, slate, concrete and its Fenix range. The kitchen company is celebrating its 130th anniversary and currently export across Europe, China, Russia and the USA.
