Kitchens International sets up new division for contract work

Scottish kitchen retailer Kitchens International has created a new standalone division specifically for the commercial interiors market.

KI Interiors will target restaurants, hotels, cook schools, shops and offices looking for well-designed kitchens.

The firm said that KI Interiors is already designing and installing kitchens across Scotland for this growing market.

Helen Taylor, one of KI’s most senior designers, has been appointed to head up its new commercial interior division.

Taylor has more than 20 years’ experience in the retail and contract interior design market and will now focus on using her skills across a wide range of commercial projects.

“As the trend for stunning interiors in restaurants, hotels, interior shops and dining facilities grows, there is a gap in the market in Scotland for specialist designers for this sector,” the firm said.

“KI Interiors has already completed an array of beautiful commercial interiors.

“With a fresh and skilled approach to commercial designs, as well as offering a very bespoke service, this new department has been welcomed hugely in the Scottish commercial restaurant, dining and hospitality industry.”

In one project, KI Interiors designed a contemporary new look for Edinburgh-based Thai restaurant Dusit, with feedback that the business has seen customers increase as a result.

In another, KI Interiors renovated the buffet dining and breakfast room in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Edinburgh (pictured above).

Paul O’Brien, KI Interiors brand director, said: “In every space that is being used by consumers, the interior is as important as the product on offer.

“Utilitarian and institutional designs are no longer acceptable in many hospitality, dining or retail facilities, which is why we saw the need to create this new commercial division.

“Our skills and experience from many years in kitchen design can be transferred easily to create commercial interiors that will excite our new customers.”
