Poggenpohl under new management

Luxury German kitchen brand Poggenpohl has announced the appointment of Dirk Lange as its new managing director.

He succeeds Ralf Marohn, who took control of the Herford-based company in September 2020 when it was saved from bankruptcy by Chinese Jomoo Group.

According to a statement from the brand, Lange brings to the role many years of experience having held several key management positions with premium sanitaryware and interior fittings brands including Kohler.

Most recently, he worked as an independent management and strategy consultant in Asia.

Commenting on his appointment and his strategy to drive the brand forward Lange said: “Poggenpohl has made kitchen history with its precision craftmanship and a continuously evolving approach to innovation since it was founded in 1892. Our business is growing, especially in the international market, in the USA and Asia. With a strong, independent positioning of the brand and the intensive expansion of design and technological excellence, we will give kitchen architecture a progressive profile – for the benefit of a very discerning international clientele.

Chairman of the supervisory board at Poggenpohl, Xiaowei Lin added: “We are delighted that Dirk Lange has taken on the position of managing director. His knowledge of international client structures in the upmarket interior segment as well as local market mechanisms will sustainably drive us forward in the renewal process and profitably accelerate Poggenpohl’s growth. At the same time, I would like to thank Ralf Marohn for the organisational developments he established.”
