Störmer factories remain fully operational

German kitchen manufacturer Störmer has announced that its factories in Rodinghausen and Enger remain fully operational despite the ongoing global coronavirus situation.

The company revealed that its plans include continued production of its premium Villeroy & Boch brand.

In a statement the brand said that it is observing guidelines set by the German government and that measure are being taken in regard to personal hygiene and safety. Those who can work remotely – like the sales team and processing staff – are working from home.

The kitchens bound for UK retailers and customers are being produced and stored and ready to be shipped once the UK restrictions for ‘essential transport only’ have been lifted.

Bodie Kelay, managing director of Euromobel UK and the UK sales for Störmer and Villeroy & Boch said: “We have put plans in place with our UK logistic partners where kitchens are produced, loaded and stored ready to go once ‘essential transport only’ restrictions are lifted and showrooms re-open. We fully understand the seriousness of this global pandemic and are in touch daily with the factories and our customers to ensure seamless communication. Our priority is for everyone to stay safe.”

In 2019, the company completed a five-year investment strategy, which includes the automation of production lines and the successful implementation of a new 20/20 computer system. These improvements were to support levels of service, flexibility and to prioritise employee safety.
