Franke offers degree scholarship for More in Store retailers

Swiss sinks and taps manufacturer Franke is offering a 50% scholarship for the Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design to a studio designer at one of its More in Store retailers.

Normally, the tuition fee is £5,400 a year for the three-year course, of which Franke is offering to contribute half.

The degree is a distance-learning course at Bucks New University and is taught by industry experts with the backing of The Kitchen Education Trust (TKET), which helps shape the course content.

The course not only focuses on design, but also covers areas including sales and marketing, business, service, production, installation, psychology and an understanding of related design industries.

Applications are now open and retailers have until August 4 to apply.

Neil Clark, managing director at Franke, said: “We recognise that The Kitchen Education Trust are making a real difference to our industry and are delighted to offer this sponsorship opportunity as part of our commitment to improved professionalism within the industry, and to our More in Store initiative. This is a very exciting opportunity for the selected individual, as well as for the More in Store retailer who will be helping their member of staff achieve an industry-recognised qualification. We look forward to receiving applications.”

To apply, More in Store retailers need to e-mail a personal statement from their candidate, stating why they would like to participate in the course and how they expect it to progress their career within the industry, to [email protected].
