Sharp to show over 200 products at IFA

After a year when Sharp saw sales in the UK grow by 36%, it will be exhibiting more than 200 products at the IFA show in Berlin.

The products on display at IFA (August 31 to September 5) are said to “make conventional housework routines a thing of the past” and focus on smart-home technology.

European sales and marketing director Alberico Lissoni said that after a year of rapid growth across all of Europe, the company would use its presence at IFA to build on that success.

Lissoni said: “With this exhibit, we plan to demonstrate how we will, moving forward, offer even greater differentiation and competitive edge for our partners.

“As well as launching entirely new product categories, we’ll be using our unique multi-industry experience to introduce breakthrough innovations for the home-appliance sector. Rather than prop up existing housework routines, we will be simplifying and even breaking them with game-changing solutions, technologies and features.”

Sharp will focus on several products, including a combi fridge-freezer that is said to extend the shelf life of groceries with vacuum pack technology. A built-in cooking range will on display as well as a touch-control feature for new washing machines and dishwashers. It will also unveil its first range of tumble-dryers.

This year, Sharp said it will also show its largest line-up of quiet appliances to date, and on the first day of IFA, will be the official partner of QuietMark in the ShowStoppers event. This is an invitation-only opportunity for companies to network with the press.
