Ex-Häcker UK boss Herden joins Rotpunkt

German kitchen supplier Rotpunkt has appointed Sven Herden as its new managing director.

Herden, 40, was previously UK MD of German kitchen giant Häcker, taking over the role from industry veteran Stephen Fass in July 2016. He will become part of the management board of Rotpunkt Küchen from January 1, 2019.

Commenting on the appointment, Rotpunkt’s two managing partners, Andreas Wagner and Heinz-Jürgen Meyer said: “We are glad to have found a new colleague who stands for innovation and internationality.

“We’ve demonstrated continuous double-digit growth during 2018 and will continue to invest in the future of Rotpunkt Küchen. Now, we want to move forward on this route with Sven Herden. We will get new ideas from him for our business and we hope to benefit from his former experience.”

Added Herden: “I’m really looking forward to being part of a highly-motivated team in this family-run business and want to help with my experience to drive the company further forward.”

Born in the ‘chipboard valley’ of Eastern Westphalia, Herden had been with Häcker since September 2011. His immediate focus will be on sales and marketing for all markets. He will begin his role in the head office in Bünde.

Häcker stressed that Herden’s departure was at his own request. The rest of the UK team will stay the same and Jörg Varnholt, sales director for Europe, will assist in the transition period until the role is filled.
