KBB magazine shortlisted in British Media Awards

The team behind Britain’s best-selling kitchen bedroom and bathroom consumer magazine and kbbreview’s sister title, Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms, has been shortlisted in the British Media Awards 2019.

Named as finalists in the Content Team of the Year category, the team of five is led by editor Lindsay Blair, who stepped into the role a year ago.

Blair, along with features editor Georgina Townshend, features writer Yvette Murrell, sub-editor Stefanie Gerdes and editorial assistant Elinor Stephens, were recognised for their continued work as experts in their field and innovations to establish their presence front and centre, rather than be faceless names behind a brand.

The team is regularly seen talking at leading industry events, including London Design Festival and at Chelsea Design Quarter, taking part in live films on Instagram and Facebook, as well as meeting readers during the recently-launched Supper with KBB events programme.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the team, so I am extremely proud that our work has been recognised by the British Media Awards. As qualified print journalists, the challenge of the publishing industry is the constant need to diversify and that’s something we’ve become rather adept at,” said Blair.

“Once a job that was faceless, being front-of-camera, on audio and social media is part of the role today, so we have all taken skills in social media management, SEO, video and photography as part of our day-to-day roles. As a team of five, we are creating enormous amounts of cross-platform content daily and learning to be multimedia journalists every day.”

The awards ceremony will take place at the Hilton on London’s Park Lane on May 22.

Powered by Campaign, the awards are now in their eighth year and showcase the wide range of talent in Britain and overseas, celebrating the leaders, rising stars and organisations who are driving growth in media.
