The owner of Mira Showers, Kohler Mira, has appointed company veteran Craig Baker (pictured) as its new managing director.
It follows the sudden departure of Liz Hazeldene, who had been in the post for five years.
Baker was most recently Hazeldene’s deputy and has held a number of positions in his 20-year career with Kohler Mira, including new product development director and marketing director. He began his career at Mira Showers as a design engineer.
The company said Baker was appointed “following a short but in-depth process that involved both external applicants and internal candidates from across the Kohler global business”.
Baker said: “These are exciting times for Kohler Mira. I am delighted to lead our talented team as we take on the challenges ahead and continue to ensure that we maintain our marketing-leading position.”
Based in Cheltenham and Hull, Kohler Mira is one of the world leaders in bathroom design, made up of three market-leading brands: Mira Showers, Kohler UK, and Rada.
Daniel Brohn, president, global faucets, at Kohler Co, said: “I have no doubt that Craig is the right person to lead and inspire the team at Kohler Mira.
“This business has some very strong strategic plans in place, and I know Craig will ensure the team continue to drive and execute those plans.”
In 2009, Baker was awarded the chairman’s award, which is annually presented to only one of Kohler’s 35,000 associates worldwide.
Kohler Mira is part of the US Kohler Co group – a private family business based in Wisconsin, established in the late 1800s.
Most recently, the group has been investing heavily in smart kitchen and bathroom technology using Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform to create its own internet-of-things platform Kohler Konnect.
