Electrolux has appointed Chris Ibbitson as its new channel manager for contracts. Ibbitson worked as head of national sales at Travis Perkins for nine years and has experience within the industry.
In his new role, Ibbitson will focus on developing the company’s contract channel strategy across house builder, projects and distribution, as well as supporting the growth of Zanussi, Electrolux and AEG brands.
Gordon Dawson, UK head of kitchen retail and contracts for Electrolux, said: “We’re delighted to have Chris on board, he’ll be a great asset to the business as we build on the significant momentum we have gained during the first half of 2019. As part of our UK strategy, we’re continuing to focus heavily on the house-builder market, hence why Chris will be coming in to lead the team.
“We’ve also made a significant investment in the UK after-sales and technical support team. This includes a multimillion-pound investment in IT infrastructure and over 60 new staff recruited into our UK contact centre from July 1. We recognise that, for house builders, great consumer service is key, and this investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to the industry.”
Ibbitson said: “I am looking forward to joining Electrolux at such an exciting time. I’ve used AEG’s award-winning appliances personally over the years, and I’m familiar with the group’s world-class sustainability credentials, so coming on board was an easy decision to make. I’m looking forward to becoming fully immersed in the brand and meeting key customers over the coming months.”
