Symphony Group supports community champion retailers at kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2020

Symphony Group is sponsoring the Community Champion of the Year category at the 2020 kbbreview Retail & Design Awards.

This is a new category that celebrates KBB retailers who are making a difference in their community through supporting local initiatives or charities.

We talk to Simon Collyns, the Symphony Group’s group marketing and retail sales director, to find out why the company is sponsoring this category.

Q: What do you think makes the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards so important to the KBB industry?

A: The kbbreview Retail & Design Awards are important to the kitchen and bathroom industry because they showcase all the hard work that retailers, designers and manufacturers do throughout the year. They also let people in the industry come together to celebrate everyone’s achievement.

Q: Why did Symphony decide to sponsor the Community Champion of the Year award?

A: This award category felt like a great fit for us this year. Symphony has always been keen on supporting local communities up and down the country, and while it’s not something we always publicise, we work with community and housing groups throughout the UK. We also aim to play an active role in improving our local environment, too. At our head office, we have a number of initiatives in place, from having a biomass boiler and building the most energy-efficient offices, to ensuring our transport routes are optimised for reducing carbon emissions. We are doing everything in our power to reduce our impact.

Q: In what ways does Symphony support and work with retailers?

A: One of the key things that we’ve always been proud of is our work with our retailers. From day one, we support them and nurture our relationship – we see it as a partnership. Their success is our success. We help with mood boards, accessories and suggest ways displays could be improved, if they want. We make sure that we work together to ensure that they have the right displays in their showroom and offer the right training – whether that’s in-house, something more formal at our head office, or e-learning.

So, whether the retailer is brand new to the industry, or has been doing this for years, we make sure we offer the widest variety of brands and product collections, so they have something for everyone.

Q: How do you see kbbreview’s role in the KBB industry?

I’ve always had great respect for kbbreview in the industry. We know it’s one of the go-to magazines for our retailers, which is why we work with them so closely. We continue to advertise across this, and its sister title – Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms – and we will always put forward Symphony for comments.
