PWS to restart operations next week

PWS has announced it will start up its distribution and production activities from Monday.

It is the latest in a series of UK suppliers and manufacturers announcing that they will fire up their businesses again in anticipation of lockdown measure lifting.

However, also like the others, the company is stressing strongly that it is adhering to all possible safety measures.

“As we continue to monitor the Government and Public Health England advice on how we manage our business throughout the Covid-19 outbreak, our highest priority remains to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, customers and their families during these challenging times,” said CEO Mark Stephenson.

“With some of our customers indicating that they can safely adhere to the Government’s advice on travelling to work, they are now preparing to recommence operations, with the relevant safety measures in place…Following this and in order to help support them, we are in turn, planning to restart our distribution and production activities from Monday May 4.”

PWS will be enforcing special safety measures across the business, including the implementation of personal protective equipment and staggered shifts.

“We are well placed to restart in a very strong position; our stock levels are good and many of our suppliers in Europe have restarted, albeit in a very controlled way,” Stephenson said. “We will continue to communicate and work with our customers to ensure that when we return we continue to deliver the levels of service that the market expects, but for now, please stay safe and we look forward to working with you again very soon.
