Grohe nominated for sustainability award

Bathroom and kitchen fittings brand Grohe has been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2021 for its continued commitment to sustainability.

Now in its 13th year, the awards recognise companies that succeed in combining economic success with social responsibility and environmental protection. The ceremony will take place on December 4 – German Sustainabilty Day – in Dusseldorf.

“We are really very pleased with the nomination and the recognition it brings” said Thomas Fuhr, COO Fittings LIXIL International and CEO Grohe AG. “We have been pursuing our sustainability goals for many years with high pressure and full conviction.

“This year we have again been able to reach important milestones. It encourages us to constantly scrutinise and improve our internal processes in the interest of a better environment.”

No stranger to the German Sustainability Awards, Grohe was ranked third in “Germany’s Most Sustainable Big Companies 2020” category at last year’s event.

According to Grohe, sustainability is an integral part of its corporate strategy and, it says, it is committed to developing new initiatives that help it achieve its environmental goals.

Since July 2019, the brand has been using green electricity at all five production sites and in its German logistics centres. And, in April this year, it achieved carbon-neutral production status.

By 2021, Grohe aims to make its sales offices climate-neutral and increase its energy efficiency.
