BC Designs returns to full strength to support growth strategy

Colchester-based bathroom supplier BC Designs has brought back all of its employees from furlough as it prepares for international expansion.

The company – which remained operational with a limited service throughout lockdown – has now resumed its full operations to support UK customers and grow its overseas business.

BC Designs already has a presence in a number of European markets and has recently secured new contracts in Ireland and the US. It has recently received “several significant sales enquiries” from the Middle East and, as part of its new international growth strategy, the brand is currently developing a range of products, specifically for the American market.

Darren Allison (pictured), managing director BC Designs, said: “Lockdown presented us with a unique opportunity to revisit and refocus our business strategy.

“We have strong growth plans and one area which will allow us to achieve this is through increasing our presence and sales in the international arena.

“The senior management has since taken the decision to invest heavily in key markets including the Middle East and the USA, of which we have already started to see the benefits. Since June 1, we have already secured housing and hotel contracts in Ireland, with plans to continue to invest heavily in the country.

“However, this has only been possible by bringing back all our staff off furlough to ensure we have knowledgeable sales and customer service staff to meet demand both in the UK and abroad.”
