BCT opens first London Hub

Tile manufacturer British Ceramic Tile will launch its first London Hub at Clerkenwell Design Week, which runs from May 24-26.

The 1,300sq ft space, located on Seward Street, Clerkenwell, will cater to the needs of the local architects and design community and the wider specification market.

The company said its new hub will “highlight how British Ceramic Tile blends cutting-edge design, skilled craftsmanship, quality processes and large-scale production”.

The hub will feature a heritage wall that will educate visitors on the company’s UK-based design and manufacturing framework, which has been operating for more than 100 years. The wall will also feature a 3D timeline that includes photographs, manufacturing tools and tile designs.

A separate interactive trend wall will allow customers to create their own mood board, which a collection wall will showcase the latest tile design trends.

A workshop area in the centre of the space has been designed to be used for research purposes or design meetings.

Tony Taylor, chief executive of British Ceramic Tile, said: “The London Hub reflects our ongoing growth as a business and drives part of an overall strategy to raise our profile in the commercial market. We are offering a different proposition – a design experience, an aspiration. As this is our first operation in London, this is an invaluable opportunity to expand our reach and forge new relationships. It’s going to be a fantastic space that we are all very proud of.”
