Axor launches design competition

Premium brassware brand Axor has launched a nationwide design competition to celebrate the launch of its new MyEdition 2.0 range.

The new Axor collection, from the Hansgrohe Group, is supplied with a neutral mounting plate that makes it possible to apply a variety of materials, patterns and textures to the top of the tap, to create a bespoke finish.

The competition invites the UK’s creative and design community to enter by designing their own MyEdition plate.

Entries close on November 27. The judging panel – which includes Anke Sohn, global head of Axor marketing, Hansgrohe UK managing director Jay Phillips, and Andreas Diefenbach, managing partner at Phoenix Design – will then compile a shortlist that will be available for public vote on Axor’s social media channels.

The winner – who will be revealed mid-December – will have their design realised in a prototype, which will be displayed in the window of Hansgrohe’s Water Studio on Clerkenwell Road in London for four weeks from mid-January 2021.

MyEdition 2.0 is an extension of the Axor MyEdition collection, which was launched at Eurocucina in Milan two years ago to meet demand from designers and consumers looking for a more bespoke finish. The original collection came with a choice of 15 interchangeable plates to make a different statement depending on current trends or seasons.
