Kudos invests to increase shower tray production capacity

Kudos Showers has made a £650,000 investment in extra production capability at its plant in Elmsfield Park, south Cumbria.

The latest upgrade includes a vertical vacuum-forming machine for shower trays, which Kudos says will help speed up the production process. A new sanding machine should also help it produce of composite-filled acrylic shower trays more quickly.

The Cumbrian factory is mainly producing the new SR premium shower tray collection, in both KStone and Connect2 designs, which have a new surface material that is said to be slip-, scratch- and stain-resistant.

More than 25,000sq ft of space has been created by moving finished goods storage to a 60,000sq ft warehouse facility in Sandbach, Cheshire. The move has also helped speed up distribution as the stock is now housed in a more central location.

Kudos has also been increased the capacity of its tray manufacturing unit in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, with a new shower tray production facility.
