Türling steps down as CEO of Ideal Standard International

Torsten Türling has left his role as chief executive of Ideal Standard International and will be jointly succeeded by Jonas Nilsson (right) and Jan Peter Tewes (left).

Türling had been CEO of the bathroom products company since 2015.

Nilsson joined Ideal Standard International in January 2019 as chief operating officer and Tewes came on board in October 2018 as chief commercial officer. In September 2020, following a reorganisation of the company into business segments, Nilsson was appointed as president, sanitaryware, and Tewes as president, fittings – while retaining his role as CCO.

Graham Oldroyd, chairman of the board, commented: “On behalf of the board, I would like to congratulate Jan Peter Tewes and Jonas Nilsson on their future new roles. Individually, each is already an accomplished leader with a successful track record. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to the direction of Ideal Standard.”

Over the past year, as Ideal Standard changed its business structure, Nilsson and Tewes were instrumental in that process and were responsible for its successful transformation.

The organisation says it has upgraded its operations footprint to make the business more streamlined so as to better meet the needs of its customers.

Before Ideal Standard, Tewes was executive vice-president, building (Europe) at Uponor, and a member of the group’s executive committee. He also spent 10 years at Grohe in a variety of roles, including chief marketing officer and a member of Grohe’s global management team.

Nilsson joined the company after several high-level jobs, including president, Europe, Africa and South America, at the automotive supplier IAC Group, president, Europe and Africa, at Autoliv AB, chief operating officer at Franke Kitchen Systems Group and various operational and divisional roles at Visteon corporation and Lear corporation.
