Premium Scandinavian appliances brand Asko is coming back to the UK with a new range of laundry products.
The brand, which is owned by Gorenje, disappeared from the UK market around three years ago but will now be distributed here exclusively through KitchenEx.
Kbbreview understands that the products will initially be available through independent retailers.
Asko has been producing high-quality, premium kitchen and laundry appliances for the past 70 years.
The Swedish brand will also be launching a range of built-in kitchen appliances later this year.
Commenting on the launch, Howard Grindrod, vice-president at Asko UK, said: “Here at Asko, we are inspired by the ways of nature and we believe that form should follow function. We strive for elegant simplicity and timeless style, based on the fact that we know more can be done with less. All of our products embody the Scandinavian spirit and are built to deliver premium results every time, and our new models are no exception.”
“For us, perfection is not the result of decoration, but of responsible use of basic elements. We understand human needs and have designed Asko’s new laundry models not just as a solution to this need, but to become a much-loved part of people’s homes and lives.”
The new laundry range consists of six machines – three washing machines and three tumble-dryers under the names Style, Logic and Classic.
Style models feature a full-size front made from a single piece of solid stainless steel and the knobs and buttons are made of carefully polished metal. The washer has a 9kg capacity, a spin speed of 1,800 rpm and is rated A+++ for energy. Its matching dryer has an 8kg capacity and reverse tumble action.
Logic models are minimalistic in their styling and are intended for “integration where appearance is important. The 9kg washer has a spin speed of 1,600rpm and is rated A++ for energy. The dryer is a 9kg model with reverse tumble action.
Classic models offer a program for every occasion, including an eco-friendly cycle. The washer is 8kg, 1,600rpm and rated A+++ for energy, while the dryer has the same capacity and is rated A++, also with reverse tumble action.
