Contract sector will outperform retail in 2016

The kitchen contract sector has seen substantial growth in the past year and is forecast to continue into 2016, a new report has found.

Over £750m worth of fitted kitchens has been absorbed in the contract sector for 2015, giving it 21% of total market value.

Data from JKMR, a B2B research company, shows that the contract sector is set to outperform the retail sector, driven by rising new build completions and a marketplace that has allowed average client spend to increase.

The report also identifies changing sector needs, how recent company acquisitions may impact the sector, and the impact of ‘trade retail’ on ‘direct contract’, as well as potential new opportunities for sector providers.
