Winchester-based KBB retailer Searle and Taylor has won the Service Excellence Award 2022 at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards.
The long-established independent kitchen retailer, established in 1991, beat three other finalists to win the accolade.
Competition is fierce in Winchester as there are now 14 kitchen showrooms in the city, compared with three when Searle and Taylor first opened. It specialises in handmade, bespoke and contemporary kitchens as well as furniture for other rooms.
The awards, run by the Winchester Business Improvement District, the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and the Winchester Chronicle are intended to promote major achievements and successes of local businesses.
Searle and Taylor managing director Darren Taylor and design manager Gavin Alexander (pictured) were presented with the award at a gala dinner held at Winchester University on Thursday, June 9.
The judges highlighted the company’s longevity and large number of customer testimonials, including many five-star Google reviews praising their excellent and professional service.
Commenting on the award, Taylor said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won the Service Excellence Award at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2022. There is so much competition for kitchens in Winchester and what makes it really hard is that all of my competitors are really good at what they do.”
He added: “Being recognised for providing service excellence all the way through the long process of designing, selling and installing a kitchen is absolutely fantastic for me and my superb team. We are also so grateful for the many testimonials and five-star reviews that we have received from our clients, because they have made all the difference to us achieving this accolade. I can genuinely thank our clients, past and present, for helping us win.”
