Howdens and Yusen Logistics UK have extended their partnership with a new fleet of dedicated vehicles.
The logistics company supports the kitchen manufacturer from warehousing and distribution throughout the supply chain. Key areas of Yusen Logistics UK business are its ’through the night’ cross docking operations and daily distribution services to regional Howdens depots.
Yusen Logistics UK will service Howdens’ depots across the East Midlands, South-East London, and South-West London, including the Home Counties and, will shortly be covering North Yorkshire and the North-East.
Steve Liddiard, director of Logistics at Howdens, said: “During the short time we’ve been working together, Yusen Logistics has shown great flexibility to meet our requirements. Their commitment to continued investment in additional facilities and technology has been key to our national rollout of the regional cross-docking centres (XDCs). One new addition to Yusen Logistics is the introduction of 21 tractor units to support the primary distribution operations in the UK for bulk depot replenishment and reverse logistics into the supply chain.
