Andy Baines has joined Vado as managing director. He succeeds Iain Gibson who is retiring at the end of the August.

The Norcros Group, which includes Vado, Merlyn and Triton, sees Baines as an ‘accomplished, commercially focused, and innovative leader’ and he will use his 26 years of experience in the bathroom industry to drive Vado’s business.

Former managing director Gibson joined Vado in 2019 and became interim managing director in April 2020 before taking on the role fully in October 2020. He has now retired from the company.

Speaking about his appointment, Baines said: “I am an innovator and designer at heart. I have always been passionate about helping create things that enhance peoples’ lives. Joining Vado, who share the same values and at a pivotal point in the brand’s history, gives me and the team a great opportunity to drive the business forward to do incredible things.

“I believe leadership is an honour, not a status. It is my pleasure to provide a safe and fair space for people to be themselves, flex their imaginations and innovate in ways they never thought possible. I am looking forward to being part of the next chapter of Vado’s exciting history, delivering products that improve the way people experience bathrooms every day.”

Baines has 26 years of bathroom industry experience. His last job was at Kohler as general manager for global commercial products, kitchens, and bath group. Prior to this Andy spent five successful years as president of Robern in the USA and five years as new product development director for Kohler Mira and Kohler kitchens and bathrooms UK.
