Whirlpool UK Appliances has announced a change in its sales management leadership.
Following the promotion of James Goldsmith to managing director KitchenAid SDA EMEA, the UK arm of Whirlpool has appointed two new sales directors, Jim McEwan (right) and Nick Hughes (left).
Whirlpool said this new direction demonstrated “another important step in the integration of the Whirlpool Corporation and Indesit Company in the UK”.
McEwan has been promoted to sales director, multichannel customers, from his previous role within the company as category director, marketing. He joined Whirlpool in 2009 and has held the role of category director since January 2015.
Hughes has been appointed sales director, developing business, and will join the company on September 23. He will be responsible for managing and developing sales channels as well as new business opportunities. He joins from Carlsberg Breweries, where he held the role of vice-president of sales, western Europe.
Maurizio Pettorino, Whirlpool UK Appliances managing director, said: “We’re very pleased to announce the new direction of our commercial team. With the promotion of Jim McEwan and the addition of Nick Hughes, I’m confident that our new commercial team will enable further growth in the premium sector and greater margin expansion through how we approach the market for us and our business partners.”
McEwan added: “I’m excited to be appointed sales director, multichannel. This new role will certainly be a challenge, from taking our business plan to the next level with our retailers, to delivering a best in class in-store and digital execution with a focus on an improved consumer journey.”
Hughes said of his appointment: “I’m thrilled to be joining the global domestic appliance leader in the role of sales director, developing business, and I’m looking forward to progressing such a key area for the company.”
