James Mayor opens kitchen showroom in Macphersons appliance store

Bespoke kitchen and home furniture maker James Mayor Home has opened its first ever kitchen showroom in the Macphersons Appliances store in Harborne, Birmingham.

The new showroom within the newly refurbished Macphersons store will feature James Mayor Home’s bespoke furniture, allowing customers to view and buy kitchens and appliances under one roof.

James Mayor Home has been manufacturing furniture for every room in the home for more than 40 years and each kitchen is handmade to the customer’s exact specifications in its 5,000sq ft factory in Birmingham. The company also provides a design consultancy service and a representative will be made available to meet customers by appointment at the Macphersons store.

James Mayor Home produces kitchens in a variety of styles can also provide, Armac Martin brassware, LVT flooring from Amtico and Pooky lighting while its cabinetry can be painted in the latest colours from Farrow and Ball.

More than 20 appliances are featured throughout the displays, including handleless Miele Artline cookers, Quooker hot water taps and Liebherr ‘column’ flush-fit refrigerators.

James Mayor Home creative director Sherry Wales said: “This new show space will enable us to work more closely with our clients across Birmingham and beyond, so we are thrilled to be here in what is a complete first for our brand. As entirely custom-made cabinetmakers, we have showcased some of the latest trends, such as the use of tongue and groove, a ledge for easily accessing cooking utensils and oils, and bold quartzite worktops, complemented by a combination of neutral and stronger mid-century tones.

“Every James Mayor kitchen is designed to our clients’ tastes, and we take pride in ensuring that every single door and trim is made by hand with nothing as standard in our own Birmingham workshop. The kitchen design possibilities are endless because of the bespoke nature of our in-house approach. Now, together with Macphersons, the very best in bespoke design and luxury appliances are brought together to enable clients to source everything for a completely bespoke approach, all in one place.”

James Mayor Home is running an initial promotion offering customers living within 30 miles of the showroom a free design consultancy. A winner will be chosen on March 24.
