Workshops added to Smart Kitchen Summit

Four pre-conference workshops have been added to the Smart Kitchen Summit in October, which explores the intersection of tech, food, design and commerce in the connected kitchen.

The workshops will take place on October 5, the day before the main sessions and will be ‘smaller and more intimate’ than the general conference. This also means that tickets are limited and will cost an additional $100 (£77) beyond the standard ticket price.

The interactive workshops will take place at the Edgewater Hotel, Seattle, USA, and start at 1pm.

The event is sponsored by Dacor Appliances and Bucks New University, and will include guest speaker Johnny Grey (pictured) of Johnny Grey Studios.

The four workshops are:

  • DESIGN: Choreographing an Emotionally Smart Kitchen with Johnny Grey
  • BUILD: A Case Study in Building and Bringing a Smart Kitchen Product to Market with DADO Labs, Char-Broil & Behmor
  • SELL: Retail Strategies in the Era of the Connected Kitchen with Amazon’s Carmen Nestares and Williams-Sonoma’s Michelle Baden Foss
  • FUND: Venture capital and funding for smart kitchen & foodtech startups with Michael Wolf, FTW Ventures Brian Frank and Playground Global’s Mark Valdez (Playground Global)
