Bathroom manufacturer Bristan Group has committed to a series of initiatives to make its business more sustainable.

These were outlined as part of Bristan’s first Environmental, Social and Governance report, which has just been launched.

The report outlines that Bristan’s main sustainability goals are to reduce its carbon footprint, maintain its status as a zero-to-landfill company, and decrease its level of water usage across the UK.

To highlight the steps Bristan has taken to achieve its water-saving goals, the report details features of its product portfolio that include sustainable features. This includes pre-flow emitters to manage the flow of water, and infra-red taps that automatically turn off when not being used.

Bristan Group also says it has measures in place to make sure that the 295 tonnes of waste it produces annually are either recycled, reused, or repurposed.

To further help meet its sustainability goals, Bristan also plans to install solar panels at its head office in Staffordshire. The manufacturer says that these are expected to generate 600kw of electricity each hour, which will equate to an annual CO2 saving of around 143,000 kgs.

Keith Allman, president and CEO of Bristan’s parent company, Masco Corporation, said: “As a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and building products, we believe in, and continuously strive to deliver, better living possibilities – for our homes, our environment and our community.

“Motivated by the prospect of a better world, we strive to maintain high standards of excellence, accountability and leadership.”

The report can be read in its entirety here.

Last year, Bristan Group’s Heritage brand unveiled its “biggest launch to date,” which included illuminated mirrors being added to its portfolio for the first time.
