Andy Griffiths to head up Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances

Glen Dimplex has announced the appointment of Andy Griffiths as chief executive of the newly-created Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances division with immediate effect.

Griffiths (pictured) is the former president of Samsung UK and Ireland and prior to his new role was a non-executive member of the Glen Dimplex shareholder supervisory board. He will now step down from that role.

Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances will comprise Morphy Richards, Roberts Radio, Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (Belling, Britannia, New World, Stoves and Lec) and Glen Dimplex Professional Appliances, which includes the water heating and catering brand Burco.

Commenting on the appointment of Griffiths, Glen Dimplex Group chief executive Fergal Naughton said: “I believe Andy’s deep experience of brand building in consumer electronics will further accelerate our development as a business.”

Griffiths said: “I am excited about the scale and breadth of opportunity that exists at Glen Dimplex. The company has very impressive R&D capability and holds strong positions in fast-growing markets right across the world. We aim to build on those strong foundations.”

The Glen Dimplex Group, which is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, is an international business. It is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric heating and also holds significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling, ventilation and renewable energy solutions.
