PWS Worksurfaces has been awarded Lapitec approved fabricator status.
A team of four, from the PWS production, technical and sales departments, was invited to the Lapitec headquarters in Italy for in-depth training on the material.
Extensive training then took place at the PWS factory, with specialist features created, prior to the Lapitec approved status being conferred.
Michael Catmull, PWS Worksurfaces’ process improvement manager, said: “We are honoured to be endorsed as a Lapitec-approved fabricator and are very excited about the opportunities this status will offer the business. The stringent process ensured that our manufacturing capabilities perfectly match Lapitec’s high standards and they have total confidence in us. With the recent £250,000 investment in our water-jet machine we are now extremely well placed to move our expertise in ultra-compact materials forward.”
Lapitec is said to offer the resilience of porcelain and a guaranteed colour match. It is 100% mineral with no resin or hydrocarbon-based binder components.
