The official mascot of the InstallerSHOW, Judi Wrench, has been named “best mascot” at a major charity fundraising event.
The Sue Ryder Mascot Gold Cup is held annually at Wetherby Racecourse, with sponsored entrants competing to run a 590m long race, which also includes hurdle jumping. Prior to the event, competing mascots take part in a mascot parade in the event’s official parade ring, where attendees can decide on their favourites.
Judi Wrench was named as the winner of the event’s best mascot award, beating over 50 other mascots. Competition reportedly included mascots such as “Dusty the Dinosaur” and “Cluck Norris”.
Lucy Dixon, head of content for Lyrical Communications – the company that organises InstallerSHOW – said to kbbreview: “We had an amazing time taking part in the Mascot Gold Cup at Wetherby Racecourse – and the highlight was Judi Wrench winning the award for best mascot.
“Judi will be making several appearances at InstallerSHOW in June, including on the catwalk of our new InstallerTRADES feature, where we’ll have tradespeople modelling the latest workwear.”
The Mascot Gold Cup previously set the Guiness World Record for the largest mascot race in 2015, where it saw 125 mascots competing for the trophy.
kbbreview, the leading business media platform in the independent kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom retail sector, is partnering with InstallerSHOW as the event’s official content partner. The InstallerSHOW is set to take place on June 25-27, at the NEC in Birmingham.
Last week, Saniflo UK revealed it plans to double its presence at this year’s InstallerSHOW, following its success at last year’s event.
