Bathroom manufacturer Vado has moved its warehouse operations to a new larger facility in Bridgwater, Somerset, which the brand says will improve efficiency and hold more stock.
According to the company, the new premises consolidates Vado’s operations from five separate warehouses in Cheddar and Glastonbury into a single site, which is already operational and fulfilling deliveries.
The new site is said to include capacity for approximately 8,000 pallet spaces, six loading docks, and also has office facilities and yard space.
Vado also believes the move has enhanced its capacity and optimised its processes, enabling the brand to deliver an improved service to its customers. The new 65,000 sq ft facility also helps support Vado’s expansion into new bathroom product categories.
From a sustainable perspective, the company also says that the move will significantly reduce its carbon footprint.
Despite moving its warehouse facilities, Vado’s head office will remain in Cheddar.
Andy Baines, managing director of Vado, said: “This move is a key step towards becoming more efficient and responsive to our customers’ needs. By centralising our operations, we are on a path of continuous improvement, saving 1,000 trips per year and reducing our annual van transportation by 26,000 miles.”
In other news, Vado also recently announced it would be working with sustainable supplier Protega to improve its packaging solutions.
