Hansgrohe brand Axor is holding a competition aimed at design students and graduates, challenging them to create a “future of luxury bathrooms” concept.
The brand is asking either current design students, or those who have graduated in the last three years, to create a concept of a bathroom space inspired by their own personal interpretation of luxury, also incorporating signature Axor products.
According to the brand, the designer of the winning concept will receive a one-night luxury stay at the recently-opened Broadwick Soho hotel in London.
Axor stipulates that entries need to include a base description of the design solution, along with a mood board and 2D plans with measurements. The brand is also encouraging entrants to consider elements such as types of materials, colour schemes, lighting and styling concepts, which can be demonstrated with CAD drawings, sketches and collages.
Competition judges include George McPherson, furniture and FFE designer at the Martin Brudnizki Design Studio; Anke Sohn, head of global brand marketing for Axor; and Alys Bryan, managing director of Design Insider.
“We are honoured to witness leading designers around the world as they create individual bathroom spaces with AXOR,” Sohn commented. “It is therefore vital that we continue to support new interior design talent to help them thrive. I look forward to seeing how the students in the design competition work with the testing brief we have set.”
Bryan added: “We are delighted to partner with AXOR on this exciting competition which will showcase how the next generation interprets luxury and applies this to a bathroom concept – a project that is typical of our industry and will test their design and planning skills.”
The closing date for entries is November 1. Axor says it will reveal the winner of the competition on November 28, at this year’s Hotel Interiors Experience (HIX) event. Hopeful young designers can download the design starter pack here.
