Troubled bathroom distributor Robert Lee has been sold in a pre-pack administration deal saving 151 jobs.
The buyer is the Roxor Group, home to brands such as BC Designs, Bayswater and Hudson Reed. The Robert Lee group of businesses includes the distribution company as well as RLD Stock, Yorkshire Shower Trays and Aquadart Brands.
Anthony Collier and Simon Farr of FRP were officially appointed as joint administrators today and completed the pre-pack sale of the group and its assets.
FRP said that the agreement sees the preservation of all employees jobs and will ensure continuity for customers of the Robert Lee group.
The sale comes less than a year after Robert Lee was sold to investment company HLD Group. But industry rumours have swirled for some time that the business had continued to struggle.
Anthony Collier, restructuring advisory partner at FRP, said: “Robert Lee was a firmly established operation, managing more than 30,000 product lines to a loyal customer base. However, it was not immune to the economic pressures felt across a range of sectors in recent years. We’re pleased to have found a high-quality buyer in Roxor Group, preserving the heritage of the business as well as a large number of jobs across the country.”
