British-based shower enclosure manufacturer Roman is celebrating its 40th anniversary today, after being founded by Gerry Osborne back in March 1985.
Osborne established the Newton Aycliffe-based business four decades ago with “a vision of becoming the UK’s leading shower manufacturer”. At the time, it sold bath screens designed to match the bath suites of the time.
Over time, Roman’s range of products evolved to also include shower enclosures and shower trays. In the past 40 years, the company has grown into one of the UK’s largest shower manufacturing brands, with a presence in 72 international markets.
To mark the occasion, Roman staff gathered today to mark the occasion with a speech from managing director David Osborne, where he reflected on the company’s achievements over the last four decades.
Discussing the event, Roman said the celebration was both a celebration of Roman’s history, but also “a moment to look ahead to an exciting future”.
Company founder Gerry Osborne sadly passed away last year, aged 84. Paying tribute to Gerry, Tom Reynolds, the CEO of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), called him “a genuine bathroom industry visionary”.
