ArtiCAD buys majority share in Smart Systems

KBB software specialist ArtiCAD has purchased a majority stake in Smart Systems, a pricing and business management systems producer.

ArtiCAD has enjoyed a strategic partnership with Smart Systems for several years, with the acquisition now fostering more technology integration between the two companies.

ArtiCAD’s managing and technical director, Richard Turner (pictured), said: “Our customers requested more supplier catalogues, enhanced pricing options and business management tools: this acquisition represents a major step towards delivering these goals.

“The synergy between our two companies and our approach to working with our customers in the KBB industry is virtually identical. Both ArtiCAD and Smart Systems are customer-centric and development-driven, and both companies have built strong track records in software innovation and technology ‘firsts’ that help retailers, designers and manufacturers to improve their operations and to sell more of their products and services. In fact, we are already starting to work on exciting new technology developments together.

“I am confident that this acquisition will deliver measurable benefits to both companies, to our existing mutual and future customers, and will support our significant plans for growth in the coming years.”
