InstallerFUTURES expands for 2025

In a bid to boost industry-wide development, InstallerFUTURES – the programme that invites young learners to specially curated events at InstallerSHOW – will run for longer in 2025, and increase its scope to cover several new trades.

Over the last three years, InstallerFUTURES has welcomed more than 700 17-to-21-year olds to the final day of InstallerSHOW, from gas, plumbing, heating and electrical courses at colleges and learning institutions.

Following recommendations from the InstallerFUTURES advisory board, the 2025 iteration of the event will see the programme running on all three days of the show, with special content being hosted at the InstallerFUTURES Arena in Hall 4.

In addition, to match InstallerSHOW’s expanding reach into new sectors, InstallerFUTURES will also be extending its coverage to become “a true multi-trade offering”, which will now also include roofing, carpentry, tiling and general building.

Event organisers say that Thursday’s content will remain dedicated to empowering the next generation, as in previous years. However, the programme on Tuesday and Wednesday will be aimed at current installers, lecturers and small business owners. Open to all InstallerSHOW visitors, topics discussed on the Tuesday and Wednesday will include:

  • Upskilling and reskilling installers
  • Why taking on an apprentice is good for you and your business
  • Want to teach? How to get into the FE sector
  • How can we encourage more women into the trade
  • What can be done to encourage mature learners to join the trades
  • Opportunities to work in solar

As in other years, InstallerSHOW says that learners joining from colleges and training facilities will receive a tailored agenda based on their course of study and interests.

InstallerSHOW will be running from June 24 – 26, at the NEC Birmingham.
