Premium retail brand Harvey Jones has announced Susie Townsend as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Townsend is Harvey Jones’ first female CEO, bringing 30 years of retail and manufacturing expertise with a track record of commercial growth and development of extremely successful brands.
The former ‘Every Woman Director of the Year’ award-winner takes over from Harvey Jones’ previous CEO Vince Gunn, having been promoted from commercial director.
During her two years as commercial director, Townsend led in developing and delivering key strategic projects. This included a transformational rebrand, a Heal’s showroom launch on Tottenham Court Road and the largest Harvey Jones showroom in Bicester.
Commenting on her appointment, Townsend said: “I’m incredibly proud to be leading Harvey Jones into its next chapter, a brand, team and supplier partnerships that I’m especially proud and passionate about.
“My priority remains focused on strengthening our national network of showrooms while driving our product offering expansion across the home.
“We are looking ahead at another exceptionally busy year rolling out seven showroom refits focusing on what matters most to our clients – thoughtful design, personal service and a sense of home from the moment you step through the door.
“This is a really exciting time for the business as we continue to create a premium kitchen experience that is designed for life, built for living.”
Back in January 2025, former CEO Gunn spoke of Harvey Jones’ big plans for the future, stating it was “looking at the development of both our physical and omnichannel footprints” and that it “all comes back to product.”
Gunn joined as CEO in early 2023 from Snug.com where he’d spent two years as managing director, but just a year later in February 2024 Harvey Jones was rescued in a last-minute prepack deal by funds managed by RBC BlueBay Asset Management, part of the Royal Bank of Canada..
