Villeroy & Boch sees H1 revenue boost driven by acquisitions

Villeroy & Boch has reported a 12.1% increase in revenue to €725.8 million (£628.15m) in the first half of 2025.

The growth is largely attributed to the acquisition of Ideal Standard and the group’s wider international expansion.

The bathroom manufacturer also posted a 3.2% rise in operating profit (EBIT) to €47.8m (£41.4m). Group EBIT, which includes non-operating results, rose significantly to €38.5m (£33.3m).

A company statement said the performance reflected the ongoing implementation of its strategic realignment, which includes increased focus on its core Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard brands, as well as divestment of non-core assets.

In July, Villeroy & Boch agreed to sell its Gustavsberg and Vatette brands – part of its Northern European business – to Finnish sanitary fittings firm Oras Group.

“Despite the continuing global slowdown in consumer spending, we can see that the consistent implementation of the Villeroy & Boch Group’s strategic realignment is paying off,” said CEO Gabi Schupp. “This year, important steps include creating synergies in production and focusing on our core business and our main brands.”

The Bathroom & Wellness division posted revenues of €594m (£514m) in the first six months of the year, up 15.7% year-on-year. This growth was mainly driven by a €41.8m (£36.2m) boost in the fittings segment and a 21.7% rise in the EMEA region. EBIT for the division increased by 3.6% to €47m (£41m).

Looking ahead, the company warned of continued market volatility, driven by ongoing global trade tensions and uncertainty around US tariff policies.

As a result, it has adjusted its outlook for the full year and now expects consolidated revenue to rise in the low to mid-single-digit percentage range, with EBIT expected to remain at 2024 levels.
