KBB resale and reuse platform Rehome has just launched Rehome Plus, its new affiliate referral gateway for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.
Described as similar to part-exchanging a car, the service allows customers to unlock the residual value of their kitchen, bedroom or bathroom, by trading it in, and is estimated to generate an average return of £4,000. According to the company, this gives customers a meaningful contribution that can go towards new purchases, and has reportedly already become a powerful sales enabler.
Explaining what makes the service different from its existing service offering, Rehome says the new Plus scheme is “an industry referral scheme only”, and that it bypasses the usual Rehome sales website. The service will automatically recognise a referral for easy tracking and follow-up, so that even if a client doesn’t complete their project with the showroom that referred them, that referral still stands.
Additionally, for every successful resale, Rehome Plus partners will receive a commission, which the company says can either be paid quarterly or donated to a chosen charity.
The service is available nationwide now, and is launching after successful pilots with select showrooms. The company says the Rehome Plus service is free to join and also comes with in-store marketing support. Rehome Plus members receive a free digital referral tool, a starter kit, and co-branded marketing assets, with the company saying the scheme is designed to be quick and easy to implement.
In addition to being a way for retailers to win more business, Rehome Plus will also allow them to comply with sustainability requirements and ESG reporting. The company also says it offers ethical recycling solutions for kitchens, bedrooms or bathrooms that don’t meet resale standards.
“Rehome Plus has already made a difference in our business,” commented Al Bruce, the managing director of retailer Olive & Barr. He continued: “It’s changed the way some of our customers think about upgrading, knowing they can trade in their existing kitchen and put that value towards a new one gives them more financial flexibility and often the push they need to go ahead.
“We’ve seen it help convert leads that might otherwise have stalled. From our side, the process is incredibly straightforward as it’s fully managed by Rehome, so it doesn’t add any pressure to our team. For us, it’s a smart addition to our offering that supports sales, sustainability, and sets us apart.”
Helen Lord, co-founder of Rehome, explained: “Rehome Plus isn’t just about sustainability, it’s a powerful commercial tool for showrooms. By helping customers turn their existing kitchen into cash, it gives them a real incentive to take the next step and invest in a new one. That’s what makes it such an effective way to drive footfall and convert interest into sales.
“We’re working closely with showrooms across the UK to activate this scheme on the ground and deliver measurable commercial and environmental results.”
