Former Victoria Plum head of buying Craig Hadley has announced his move to online-only home furniture brand

Hadley will be taking up the position of buying director in his new role and will be responsible for refining and diversifying the product collection as well as ensuring the pricing and range reflects the needs of the Matalan customer.

Hadley was instrumental in Victoria Plum’s product design and brand development, resulting in it receiving Retailer of the Year at the Venda ECMOD Direct Commerce awards.

Prior to this he was the buying manager for plumbing products supplier Globe Union/PJH Group.

“This is an exciting role to take on as has fantastic potential to become one of the leading online home retailers in the UK,” said Hadley. “With over 12.5 million loyal customers and supported by the powerhouse of Matalan on the high street, the future looks bright for the brand. My previous experience will fit well with the direction is heading in and I look forward to being part of the success story.”

Chief operating officer, Andrew Banks said: “We’re delighted to have Craig on board and really value the expertise he will bring to the role. As the brand is expanding so rapidly it’s important to make sure that we remain focused on our customer and keeping everything we offer in line with their needs and wants. Craig’s role will be instrumental in making sure that happens.”
