Malcolm Scott, who stepped down from the KBSA last month, has been appointed as the new director of strategic partnerships at The British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists (BIFIS).
In his new role, Scott will now be responsible for developing BIFIS’ partnership model, which aims to support local and national retailers to deliver robust installation propositions. He will also work to develop the institute’s network of national and international advocate brands, which share BIFIS’ installation values.
Scott served as the KBSA’s retail & corporate membership director since 2022, before leaving the trade group last month. Prior to that, he volunteered as the KBSA’s corporate chairperson since 2008, and he also gained experience as commercial director of Swift Electrical and general manager at Waterline.
Discussing his new appointment, Scott said he was honoured to join BIFIS in the new role. He commented: “The organisation’s commitment to installed excellence and its dynamic vision for the future are genuinely inspiring and was key in my decision to join BIFIS. I very much look forward to working closely with the team, our partners and advocates, and indeed the wider industry to develop initiatives that deliver real impact and help shape the future of fitted interiors.”
Similarly, Damian Walters, the chief executive of BIFIS, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Malcolm to the BIFIS team at such an exciting time for the organisation. His wealth of experience, industry knowledge, and passion for building meaningful partnerships align perfectly with our ambition to drive innovation and set new standards within the fitted interiors sector.
“I am confident Malcolm will play a crucial role in accelerating our growth and delivering even greater value to our retail partners and corporate advocates.”
